Cindy Sund, licensed captain and Hood Canal expert, was born and raised on the Olympia Peninsula. After teaching school for a number of years she purchased and operated an oyster farm and waterfront resort on Hood Canal, property that was homesteaded by her family prior to statehood. As the granddaughter of a tug boat captain and because of a life spent boating the waters of Hood Canal, Cindy has developed a passion and knowledge of this special place that is contagious.
"I can't think of a better way to share the history, beauty and uniqueness of Hood Canal than by being out on it. It has been my dream that if people experience the Canal, they will appreciate its special quality and want to help preserve this wonderful place."
On Mondays and Wednesdays in July and August you can listen to one of her narrated scenic tours aboard Lady Alderbrook. For information about boating and other water activities on Hood Canal, ask Cindy.
